Welcome to Mercy Farm!

Our top priority is the welfare of our horses

About Mercy Farm

Mercy Farm was started by the owner after realizing a need for facilities that prioritize horse care over profit. After seeing multiple facilities skimping on horse care and overcharging clients to make a quick buck, Kayla decided to open her own facility where horses always come before money.

Kayla is an Ohio State University graduate with a major in equine science . Kayla studied a wide range of equine topics such as nutrition, anatomy, equitation, pharmacology, parasitology, reproductive science, first aid, marketing and sales, and more. During her time in college, she completed an internship with Old Oak Farm where she did ground training with young horses, under saddle training with green hunter/jumper prospects, showing, and marketing of sales horses. After graduation, Kayla worked at a breeding farm in Delaware, Ohio, where she was responsible for daily tasks in the breeding shed during breeding season, along with halter breaking and training the farm’s foals, weanlings, and yearlings. An unfortunate car accident forced Kayla to resign due to injury, and after recovery she decided to start teaching lessons.

Here at Mercy Farm, Kayla strives to provide students with a strong, correct riding foundation to set them up for success, wherever their riding career may take them. Horses are also wonderful teachers of responsibility, selflessness, patience, and so many more life lessons and skills. Students are always encouraged to expand their knowledge beyond riding. We want students to explore their passion for horses and learn as much as their heart desires.

For our boarding clients, Mercy Farm ensures that your horses are cared for as if they are our own. We keep our horses as naturally as possible, feeding forage based diets and providing unlimited turnout, with the exception of severe weather. You can rest assured knowing the owner lives on property in case of an emergency. Kayla also has knowlegde and experience with first aid and medical emergencies.

“Kayla at Mercy Farm takes great care of the animals. She looked after my 2 babies—including a spirited youngster who tries everyone’s patience—when I was unable, and they returned to me in great shape and attitude. Kayla is knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend her!”
