Welcome to Mercy Farm!

Our top priority is the welfare of our horses

About Mercy Farm

Mercy Farm was started by the owner after realizing a need for facilities that prioritize horse care over profit. After seeing multiple facilities skimping on horse care and overcharging clients to make a quick buck, Kayla decided to open her own facility where horses always come before money.

Kayla is an Ohio State University graduate with a major in equine science . Kayla studied a wide range of equine topics such as nutrition, anatomy, equitation, pharmacology, parasitology, reproductive science, first aid, marketing and sales, and more. During her time in college, she completed an internship with Old Oak Farm where she did ground training with young horses, under saddle training with green hunter/jumper prospects, showing, and marketing of sales horses. After graduation, Kayla worked at a breeding farm in Delaware, Ohio, where she was responsible for daily tasks in the breeding shed during breeding season, along with halter breaking and training the farm’s foals, weanlings, and yearlings. An unfortunate car accident forced Kayla to resign due to injury, and after recovery she decided to start teaching lessons.

“Kayla at Mercy Farm takes great care of the animals. She looked after my 2 babies—including a spirited youngster who tries everyone’s patience—when I was unable, and they returned to me in great shape and attitude. Kayla is knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend her!”
